What if?

A little background about myself... I began working in the medical field in 2004 without a clear career path in mind. My main goal then was to make ends meet and transition out of restaurants.

  • Fast forward 20 years, with a decade dedicated to ophthalmology, I began to have this "itch."

  • Began to feel restless, wondering about my next steps and how to grow/progress.

  • Coupled with the demands of being a single parent to sons with busy schedules, the concept of starting a business began to grow.

What if the office I worked for did not dictate my schedule? What if I could work remotely- solving an issue almost ALL medical offices have? What if I could put a dollar $$ value on my time/my worth? And I could take myself out of the "office politics" grind that we all struggle with. What if the limitation/the ceiling of the particular office you are currently in, isn't your ceiling?

So, after growing/honing my skills as an ophthalmic technician- working in differing specialties in the field, attempting to find the right fit for me- I realized: that as an veteran technician that position does not exist. There is limited space for growth..

As I look ahead, I'm not certain. Not certain that solely working as an ophthalmic technician can continue to fill me up.

And that makes me curious- What if? What if others are feeling the same pull? The pull of something more. Maybe it's just me- but... If it isn't, if other techs are wondering- What if

Let's spark a converstaion!
